About
Our History
The Farmhouse Early Learning and Development Center was founded by Molly Robinson, who has dedicated over 20 years to providing high-quality, inclusion-based childcare. Molly’s vision for the center stems from her passion for creating a nurturing, supportive environment where every child – regardless of their developmental path – can grow, thrive, and reach their fullest potential. After years of operating Molly’s Munchkins, an in-home childcare program that built lasting relationships with families and consistently maintained a waitlist, Molly recognized the growing need for quality childcare in McLean County. The Farmhouse Early Learning and Development Center was created to meet this demand and provide these vital services to even more families in our community.
Our Mission
Our Mission at The Farmhouse is to provide high-quality care in an inclusive environment where every child’s unique strengths, abilities, and interests are celebrated. We are dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and lifelong love of learning through a holistic curriculum that supports the development of the whole child, while supporting families through meaningful relationships and access to community resources. Through our commitment to inclusive education, family engagement, and professional growth, we aim to positively impact the lives of children and their families, making our center a true home-away-from-home.

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is rooted in the following principles:
Individualized Learning
We recognize that every child is unique and capable of remarkable growth when given the right tools, encouragement, and opportunities. We nurture each child’s developmental journey by providing personalized learning experiences that cater to their strengths and needs.
Inclusive Environment
Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We welcome and support children of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with disabilities, to learn and grow together as peers. By fostering empathy, acceptance, and mutual respect, we help build a strong foundation for lifelong success.
Family Partnerships
We believe that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. By cultivating meaningful partnerships with families, we create a collaborative and supportive learning community where every child can thrive.
Play-Based Learning
We embrace play as a powerful tool for learning, allowing children to explore, discover, and build essential life skills ina fun and engaging way. We believe that children learn best through meaningful play in an environment that is nurturing, inclusive, and responsive to their individual needs. Our play-based, child-centered approach fosters curiosity, discovery, and creativity while supporting all areas of development—cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and self-help.
Whole-Child Approach
We support not just academic growth, but also social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development to ensure a well-rounded foundation for future success. Our program embraces a whole-child philosophy that values individualized learning experiences, allowing children to explore and progress at their own pace.
Our Facility
Designed with care, our modern farmhouse-inspired center combines the warmth and comfort of home with the functionality of a high-quality learning environment. This intentional design ensures children feel safe, valued, and ready to explore, learn, and grow.
Our 10,000 square foot facility features seven thoughtfully designed classrooms tailored to meet the developmental needs of each age group. We offer a dedicated gross motor room that promotes active indoor play and transforms into our summer camp room during the summer months. Our center also includes a 1,500-square-foot on-site early intervention clinic space to support children with additional developmental needs, a private nursing room for breastfeeding families, and three beautiful natural outdoor play spaces that encourage exploration and imaginative play in nature.
