About

Our History

The Farmhouse Early Learning and Development Center was founded by Molly Robinson, who has dedicated over 20 years to providing high-quality, inclusion-based childcare. Molly’s vision for the center stems from her passion for creating a nurturing, supportive environment where every child – regardless of their developmental path – can grow, thrive, and reach their fullest potential. After years of operating Molly’s Munchkins, an in-home childcare program that built lasting relationships with families and consistently maintained a waitlist, Molly recognized the growing need for quality childcare in McLean County. The Farmhouse Early Learning and Development Center was created to meet this demand and provide these vital services to even more families in our community.

Our Mission

Our Mission at The Farmhouse is to provide high-quality care in an inclusive environment where every child’s unique strengths, abilities, and interests are celebrated. We are dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and lifelong love of learning through a holistic curriculum that supports the development of the whole child, while supporting families through meaningful relationships and access to community resources. Through our commitment to inclusive education, family engagement, and professional growth, we aim to positively impact the lives of children and their families, making our center a true home-away-from-home.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is rooted in the following principles:

Individualized Learning

We recognize that every child is unique and capable of remarkable growth when given the right tools, encouragement, and opportunities. We nurture each child’s developmental journey by providing personalized learning experiences that cater to their strengths and needs.

Inclusive Environment

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We welcome and support children of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with disabilities, to learn and grow together as peers. By fostering empathy, acceptance, and mutual respect, we help build a strong foundation for lifelong success.

Family Partnerships

We believe that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. By cultivating meaningful partnerships with families, we create a collaborative and supportive learning community where every child can thrive.

Play-Based Learning

We embrace play as a powerful tool for learning, allowing children to explore, discover, and build essential life skills ina fun and engaging way. We believe that children learn best through meaningful play in an environment that is nurturing, inclusive, and responsive to their individual needs. Our play-based, child-centered approach fosters curiosity, discovery, and creativity while supporting all areas of development—cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and self-help.

Whole-Child Approach

We support not just academic growth, but also social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development to ensure a well-rounded foundation for future success. Our program embraces a whole-child philosophy that values individualized learning experiences, allowing children to explore and progress at their own pace.

Our Facility

Designed with care, our modern farmhouse-inspired center combines the warmth and comfort of home with the functionality of a high-quality learning environment. This intentional design ensures children feel safe, valued, and ready to explore, learn, and grow.

Our 10,000 square foot facility features seven thoughtfully designed classrooms tailored to meet the developmental needs of each age group. We offer a dedicated gross motor room that promotes active indoor play and transforms into our summer camp room during the summer months. Our center also includes a 1,500-square-foot on-site early intervention clinic space to support children with additional developmental needs, a private nursing room for breastfeeding families, and three beautiful natural outdoor play spaces that encourage exploration and imaginative play in nature.

What Our Families Are Saying

“Our children gained valuable foundational skills at Molly’s, such as learning letter names and sounds, establishing a routine, exploring with science experiments, and sharing. However, the most meaningful lesson they learned was the importance of inclusion and making others feel accepted—a lesson that will benefit them for life.”

Sara S.

“Molly and her crew have been a part of our family for the last 5 years. She has been such a breath of fresh air and makes my children feel loved, supported and seen. Thank you for not only being an advocate for my kiddos, but families alike. Molly has such a special gift and I can’t wait to have her be able to share that gift more broadly with the community- it will be a better place because of it. To know Molly, is to love her.”

Our kids benefited greatly from the love, care and inclusivity experienced at Molly’s Munchkins and now through The Farmhouse Early Learning and Development Center the community will too!

Molly has been such a blessing to our family. As a busy working mom, it’s such a relief to know my child is spending his days in a safe, fun, and loving environment.

I love knowing that he is eating healthy meals, getting creative with crafts, and spending plenty of time outside playing and exploring with his friends.

Molly brings so much patience and care into every day. It’s clear how much she genuinely loves what she does ❤️

“I truly cannot say enough great things about Molly and the past 3 years we spent at Mollys Munchkins with her and her crew. Molly’s care is truly one of a kind. She is attentive, inclusive, and highly educated when it comes to the care of our little ones. I knew I wasn’t just dropping my child off to sit around and do nothing all day, I knew he was going to be learning, exploring, and building his developmental skills every day, in many different ways! He recently started pre-school and I knew he was ready for the jump, specifically thanks to Molly and being under her roof and everything he was introduced to and all that he learned while being with her. We are so excited for The Farmhouse, and cannot wait for our future babies to be a part of it and continue to grow and be loved by our Miss Molly!”

“As a special educator, I know the importance of providing diverse experiences at a younger age for all learners. It was important to our family that our son be surrounded with peers of all different levels, cultures, and experiences. It was also important to us that the staff that worked with him were kind, caring, and experienced with research-based practices to nurture my son as well as his peers. That is exactly what we have found with Molly’s leadership and facility. We would highly recommend this facility for anyone looking for quality-care for their child.”

McKenna H.

“As a mom of three, two with hearing loss, Molly provided the most loving and supportive environment for all three of them. She loves and cares for the children like her own, and she was instrumental in our children’s early years of development. We are incredibly grateful for our time at Molly’s!”

I cannot speak highly enough of the former Molly’s Munchkins and the incredible care they have provided for my child for many years (from 6 months to 3.5 years old). From the very beginning, it was clear that Molly and her team created a nurturing, safe, and the welcoming environment where every child was treated with kindness, respect, and understanding.

What stood out the most to me was Molly’s commitment to inclusivity and making each and every family feel like we were ACTUAL family. She made sure that all children, regardless of background or ability felt seen, valued, and included in every activity. My son flourished under her care – not just academically and socially but emotionally as well. Because of this, we were told he was advanced going into elementary school thanks to her.

As a parent, there is no greater comfort than knowing your child is in good hands. Molly gave me peace of mind every single day, especially when dropping him off as a newborn baby. We are so grateful for the positive influence she and her caretakers had on our family and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional, inclusive childcare provider.

Molly saved our family’s life,

Molly, is like a mother figure when you are not there and who your kids want to go to more than you when your world is literally turned upside down. When I was involved in an accident that caused me as a grown up to have to be a different looking person, Molly said do not worry about your kids I promise your children will be okay because they are with ME!

This is why we love Molly. Molly is amazing on so many levels. She taught my kids not to judge from the very beginning and I am so grateful.

When my daughter attended Molly’s home daycare, she didn’t have special needs, but she was given something incredibly valuable: the opportunity to grow up in an environment where inclusivity, empathy, and understanding were just part of daily life. Being surrounded by children with a variety of needs taught her compassion in the most natural and beautiful way.

Molly has one of the most remarkable hearts I’ve ever known. She sees and loves every child for exactly who they are, and her care reflects that. Her ability to create a space that is both nurturing and inclusive is truly a gift.

The Farmhouse will no doubt be an extension of that same heart..one filled with kindness, patience, and genuine love. It’s not just a daycare; it’s a place where all children can feel seen, supported, and celebrated. I’m so grateful our community has someone like Molly pouring her passion into something so incredibly important and meaningful.

Jessica Y.

From the very first day my children walked into Molly’s home, she created a warm, inclusive environment that made them feel like part of her family. She treats every child with love, respect, and compassion, as if they were hers.

When my first pregnancy resulted in having a child with Down Syndrome who required continuous oxygen, Molly didn’t hesitate to stand by my side. She embraced every challenge with open arms and a willing heart. Together, we learned how to manage oxygen tanks, tubing, and monitors. Molly was eager to understand everything—from handling medical equipment to navigating the complexities of daycare for an immune-compromised child.

She went above and beyond by welcoming the many therapists my child needed and actively learning from them so she could support my child’s development in every way possible. Her dedication never wavered.

But Molly’s care didn’t stop there—she was just as attentive, loving, and supportive toward my children without special needs. Every day, as I left for work, I had complete peace of mind knowing my children were safe, cared for, and nurtured in Molly’s capable hands.

I am forever grateful for the love and support she has shown our family.

“Our kids were lucky enough to be with Molly’s in-home daycare for the past 5 years. We have a 6-year-old and a 9-year-old. Above all, we felt our kids were safe, loved and treated like one of her own children. We never knew what types of adventures they were in for! They truly loved the creativity she embodied, flexibility she offered and the freedom to be just kids. She is truly a person who cares for children straight from the heart!”

Tracey S.

“We are forever grateful that our children began their lives–and we began our journey as parents—under Molly’s loving care and support. Molly and her team have unmatched passion for developing, nurturing, and providing equal opportunities. With Molly, it’s Family.”
